Konrad and Michael Mayer, an uncle and nephew team, founded Dynamiko Holz & Spiel in 2017. Their love and passion for engineering, working with timber and the need for high quality wooden toys for their own children and grand-children made them join forces to create beautiful wooden trains and ride on toys for small children.
Their aim is to manufacture toys of the highest standard without any compromises in design, usability, sustainability and child safety. In their workshop in Fridolfing in Bavaria, Germany, Konrad and Michael meticulously construct each prototype by hand, with attention to detail and always with their little customers and their safety in mind. Before a new toy goes into production, it has to tick several boxes: quietness, stability, safety, colour figuration and all-wheel steering - an innovative and patented technique which Michael and Konrad developed and that allows a train with multiple wagons to run without tracks.
Dynamiko Holz & Spiel works together with several regional companies, which produce the different parts of the toys, and a disability enterprise nearby where people with mental and physical impairments assemble the wooden trains and ride on toys. Konrad and Michael work closely with daycare educators, parents and children. Only with their approval does a new toy go into production. However, before a toy is allowed to move into a new home, Konrad and Michael do the final check themselves.
All of Dynamiko’s toys are made from locally and sustainably grown beech or walnut wood and are finished by hand with natural oils. Toys with colour accents are painted with a non-toxic stain that neither comes off nor poses a risk for your child when coming in contact with saliva. All of Dynamiko’s toys have been awarded the “spiel gut” certificate, showing that their toys are beneficial for a child’s development, have play value, are safe and are made with low environmental impact.
