The Wooden Hundred Frame with Wool Balls from Oskar's Wooden Ark will help your children to learn counting as well as addition and subtraction practice with numbers 1-100.

It comes with 100 colourful wool balls. You will receive ten of each colour (red, orange, yellow, light green, dark green, blue, indigo, violet, pink, and white). The Wooden Walnut Hundred Frame is made from precious walnut wood and finished with beeswax and lacquer for lasting durability.

One hundred dimples ready for your child to fill up while counting, creating patterns, practising mathematical equations, discovering cardinal directions, and more.

  • Fill each dimple with a ball while counting from 1 to 100.
  • The engraved lines help the child "subitize" numbers, which means they can perceive the number of items in a group quickly without counting each item individually. It is based on groups of five and whether it is more or less than five. They'll learn the number seven is five and two more. Or forty-three is the fourth row down and three dimples over. All without counting all forty-three dimples. There is a lot of good info available regarding subitizing. We were introduced to it through RightStart Math.
  • Practice skip counting by placing balls only in the number you're working on such as 3, 6, 9, etc. Notice the patterns that emerge.
  • Designate a quadrant of the board for you and one for your child. Place the balls in your quadrant a certain way and ask your child to copy it in their area (either exactly or as a mirror image).
  • Think of the board as a compass and ask your child to mark the dimple that is 4 degrees west and 7 degrees south from the middle point.
  • Learn positive and negative numbers by designating the middle point as 0. Then play with the X and Y axes (X being horizontal movement and the Y axis being vertical movement). Thus, finding -3 on the X axis is three dimples to the left of the middle.
  • Play games such as rolling a dice and adding that many balls to the board (starting at the top left corner). Then roll again and add that many. Continue until the board is full.

Please also have a look at our other frames and number coins 1-100. They are made for each other:

Beautiful Quality, Incredible Craftsmanship, Versatile, Educational AND Fun

My 5yo and 2yo both use this, and so do I. The crafts(wo)manship is incredible. It feels lovely in our hands. I love how my kids how used it in different ways - whether for fun or home-learning or both! I only wish I had bought it sooner. We have the felt balls, numbers, letters, multiplication and symbol coins.

Beautiful versatile board

I bought this board for my 4yo daughter. I was so impressed with the quality when it arrived, it’s beautifully made and feels strong. We bought the numbers and letters and it came with the felt balls. My daughter loves using it for counting and we’ve noticed an improvement in her number recognition as she can now visualise the numbers as she’s counting. She’s just started using the letters to spell out simple words and family members names. I can see this will be a very well used item in our household.

Perfect home learning

Purchased this to compliment home learning in a playful manner. Easy to manipulate the letters when learning to blend and segment words. Great hands on learning that also supports fine motor.

Beautiful board

I love this wooden one hundred frame with wool balls from Treasures From Jennifer. It’s a hit with my 2 year old son, he enjoys colour matching the wool balls and I count with him. The board is well made and beautiful. I will be buying the letters and numbers to go with it from OWA next.

Hundreders board is amazing

One of my favourites in our playroom and it is so versatile! It is absolutely beautifully made. We practise spelling words with it, do maths homework, spelling games and sometimes I leave it out with a joke or message on it for the kids ❤️ highly recommend

Beautiful Educational Learning Resource

It's a really beautiful piece, I bought it for my 5yo son but for myself as well... Mum loves wooden toys, especially educational ones.
Also I use it to train him to see things differently (finding words from various directions).

Great product

This product is exceptionally well designed and made. The wool balls are a fantastic resource as they help teach the base ten concept easily. The also double up as a great resource for posting (something my toddler is very interested in). Further to this, there a spare of each colour so if you lose one you still have 10!

So beautiful

TFJ hundreds board is just beautiful. We have been colour matching with the coloured felt balls which Miss 2 and 4 have enjoyed. We have also paired it with TFJ numbers and letters and Miss 4 is loving spelling the members of her families names and counting with the numbers in small sections. Such a fantastic investment that will last for many many years.

Incredible!

This piece is stunning!! The workmanship and simplicity of it blows my mind. I can’t believe that something so simple can lend to so many options for play and learning. My little man is going to school in January and I know it will be a wonderful tool for his learning, to make worlds, math sums and simple and more difficult patterns. Stunning!
