Festive Fun: Let's Bake Gingerbread Men
Kate Kwijas | July 28, 2021
“Run, run as fast as you can, you can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread Man!”
After reading the classic story of The Gingerbread Man together with your little learners, get them baking their very own gingerbread people. Not only will they be working on those early maths skills as they help measure and weigh their ingredients, they will also delight in naturally retelling the story of The Gingerbread Man, bringing the words to life while enjoying the process of baking and eating their biscuits.
If you bake gingerbread people with your little learners, please take a photo and share it with us on Instagram and Facebook, tagging @oskarswoodenark and using the hashtag: #OWACHRISTMAS.
Preparation:
1. Download and print our gingerbread recipe.

Step 1:
Read The Gingerbread Man with your little learners.
Step 2:
Measure and mix the ingredients into dough. Don’t forget an apron to protect little clothes. We used the Glueckskaefer children’s aprons.
Step 3:
Once chilled, roll out your dough and cut shapes using a gingerbread cutter.
We used the Glueckskaefer rolling pin. It’s just the right size for little hands and rotates on an axle ensuring success and ease for your children.
